St Peter’s is a vibrant and growing charismatic evangelical Church of England church set right in the heart of Notting Hill. The organisation comprises two parts: the Church and a Church Hall building on Portobello Road which is managed by a separate charity – St Peter’s Hall (1991) charity.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be at the heart of enabling people focussed ministry in a growth and community minded church, by leading and equipping children within St Peter’s to encounter Jesus Christ, grow as His disciples and demonstrate His love to others, as well as providing administrative support for the operations of St Peter’s Church and Hall. There is scope, if the church and ministry grows, to shape this role into becoming a full-time ministry role (children’s, youth, families etc) and we can recruit someone else in for the administrative parts of the job.
This role will require a flexible, hands-on attitude to work, with a willingness to assist the other staff and lay members when needs present themselves. You will also need to be able to encourage, develop and manage volunteers to assist with the activities of the church.
The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME), women, and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy and workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.
